Happy Christmas and a very merry New Year! I've taken notice of your "We Love Craft Beer" advertisement on the home page and wanted to say, I hope Santa brought you some today! We also love craft beer! Have you been to New Belgium Brewery, they're located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Ranger and Rampant IPA's are so very tasty, Nancy like the Rampant better, I like the Ranger but both are truly amazing. Find your Ranger today:
Hi Brian. Yup - if you recall we went out for craft beer when we visited with you in Austin. Not sure if you have been to our craft beer page at the top - it shows all 57 of the craft breweries we have been to. Sadly, no craft beer here in Zihua - we'll have to wait until our first craft brewery back in the USA. Actually, New Belgium was too busy and a guy there told us better beer could be had down the street at Odell - now one of our favourites.
Teresa, I've never noticed the link at the top of the page you mentioned, wow, you guys have visited quite a few brew houses. Sounds like the bitterness of the IPA's combined with a strong hop fragrances isn't your pint of brew, so the Ranger and Rampant IPA's I mentioned would be better replaced with your favorite darker brews. I like the darker beers in the winter and the lighter in the summer and since it's mostly summer in Texas tend to drink the IPA's. You mentioned New Belgium was too busy and a guy there told you "better beer could be had down the street at Odell". That's the nightmare you watch on TV to business owners, the show called undercover boss! Go ahead, send the customers somewhere else telling them the product is better down the street. They have better beer down yonder would've had that staff worker looking for employment at Odell's! No craft beer in Zihua? Ouch! Maybe your local large grocer would be willing to order it, it's worth asking.
Ha! I figured you had missed it. Yup - we've done pretty good - should be up and over 60 by the time we get home. No - not into the bitterness. I agree about the dark vs light - we don't mind a fruity light in the summer but still like the dark anytime.
No - it wasn't an employee - that would be bad. We asked a guy outside to take our picture. We were going to go in but their was a two hour wait for a tour and it was really busy. He said 'New Belgium is good but for really good beer head to Odell." We did that and found it to be exceptional beer - actually, of the 57 one of our favourites. They take craft beer to a whole new level. Hopefully you can try their sometime.
Only Mexican beer here in Zihua - I couldn't imagine that they would order it in - way to expensive. That's ok - by the end of January we'll be back in the USA and making our way up for more craft beer in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Flagstaff has quite a few so stopping in there for sure.
